There is Hope in Jesus

We need to read the Bible passages before we answer the questions, even if we think we already know the answers.  (The first question could take 30+ min. because we ask ourselves many other questions as we pursue answer number one.) God’s Word instructs us what we can do in order to know that we are on our way to heaven.

Know

  1. What is promised to those who believe in God’s Son? John 3:1-16 (emphasis on  verse 16; also read Numbers 21:4-9 and Revelation 21:1-8)
  2. Why did God send his Son into this world?  John 3:17
  3. What are two groups and two conditions that describe everyone? John 3:18
  4. Why does a person choose not to believe (not to be saved)? John 3:19-20
  5. Why does a person choose to believe (to be saved)? John 3:19-20 (same Bible passage as #4) (Hint: Should answer #5 be the opposite of answer #4?)
  6. Who does the transforming work in the believer’s life? John 3:21
  7. How does a person get saved? Romans 10:9-13 (emphasis on verse 13)
  8. How do believers (the saved) respond when they see sin in their lives? I John 1:6-9 (emphasis on verse 9)
  9. What should believers see in their lives, as evidence of eternal life (salvation)? 1 John 3:14-15, 1 John 2:3, 1 John 4:13, 1 John 5:4
  10. Can you say that you are saved (have eternal life)? How do you know? 1 John 5:13 (Hint: Could answers seven and nine, applied personally, also answer question 10b?)

It doesn’t matter what I think; it only matters what God thinks. How will I know what God thinks, unless I read and study the Bible? I also need to be faithful in attendance to a good Bible preaching church.
